If you haven’t already gone down this path that might be something you would like to explore before engaging a website designer. It could be a great experience, and you might find the process very rewarding. Not that I can recommend any of these service just because I have never used it but here are a few to consider: web.com, Squarespace, or Wix.
This path is certainly something to consider but please keep in mind that there are several other factors to consider when deciding to create your own website:

- How fast and how much hosting space will I have (do I need to pay for extra space)
- Will I have any email hosting attached or do I need to purchase this separately (check the prices as these can be as expensive as $100 per month)
- How secure is my hosting
- Is there a way to do a on-site SEO on my pages
- Can you submit robots.txt and sitemap.xml for Google to recognise your new website online.
- Who is going to produce your business images and headers?
- Can you write a good content
- How much time do you really have to spend creating your new website

what They’re Saying
This to let you know that Adriana of SunCoast Media has been instrumental in building a new, sophisticated website and online advertising facility for Timber & Forestry eNews. Adriana’s expertise will greatly assist the publication in terms of reach & achieving its commercial goals. She will continue to assist the publication on an as required basis. I greatly value her expertise and contribution to the business.
We love our new website (www.fulltilt.com.au)! Adriana was so good to work with from start to finish. She even travelled all the way up to Gympie to meet us and work out what we wanted from our website. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she happily worked with us on all our fussy requests 🙂 I would highly recommend her to anyone looking at building a new website. Her prices are very affordable for a new business starting out too. Thanks again Adriana, it really was a pleasure doing business with you!
If you are a business that is looking for that personal service from a web designer, where you feel heard and understood. Look no further than Adriana at SunCoast Media. I had tried 3 different web design companies prior to SunCoast Media. I felt that they all did not listen, charged me for stuff that I didn’t ask for, & did not provide me with stuff that I had asked for at very inflated prices that completely blew out.
Talk to a real person, not a robot who works with you to create the best outcome for your website (www.mooloolabacanalcruise.com.au) and ultimately enhances your business, so that it can grow and prosper. Adriana has some very attractive web design packages to suit whatever you are looking for, and she will even customise them further if need be. Go on, give her a call? You won’t be disappointed.
It was so easy and fun working with Adriana. She is such a lovely and warm person. Adriana has such a gift in understanding what your need is and creating exactly what you want. I am so grateful I have found SunCoast Media. Adriana went above & beyond to make sure my website www.lokahiway.com.au was everything I had hoped for and it is!! Thank you so much.
Scope of Services
SunCoast Media takes a wholistic approach to design & development. I strive to understand your market, your audience & your core business drivers in-depth, so that I can correlate every design and engineering decision directly back to helping you achieve your business goals.
I am a huge believer in the power of collaboration. The more fluid our communications, the more powerfully we can achieve your goals.
To deliver this outcome, my process has five stages:
I begin by performing a rigorous audit of your market space. Who is the core audience? What are their concerns and values?
The first step is I need to thoroughly understand your business, your business goals, your customers and their expectations and behaviour, and how your website factors into all of it.
I’ll also look at the competitive landscape to establish context and benchmarks for how your site should function and then improve on that. This stage will give me the foundation for moving forward with just the right recommendations for the design and development of your new responsive website.
2. Prototyping & Design
Prototyping involves rapid & collaborative iteration on wireframe concepts, layouts & directions.
Once we’ve agreed on finalised prototypes I’ll create high fidelity mockups of the final product with dummy text.
I’ll set to work sketching out interface layouts for 3-5 different views, including the home page, sub page, the blog template (if applicable), and any additional page templates needed. Wireframes look like simple skeletons of your website without the visual polish of the finished design, allowing me to experiment and iterate on solutions quickly so that I have a good sense of how content should be laid out across different screen sizes.
Once you’ve approved the design, I’ll start building them.
4. WordPress Integration
After testing the static layouts, I integrate the new designs with your current WordPress theme. To do this I’ll need to mirror your live site in a development environment, then I will test the site across different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer 9+) and devices (iPhone 4S, Galaxy II). Any bugs that arise from this testing will be fixed prior to launch.
5. Launch & Measure
Finally, we go live to the world and measure the return on investment for you, with detailed analytics.
The launch process is a carefully considered one. I need to ensure email addresses don’t go down, the site doesn’t have any downtime, any old links are re-directed to the new pages and several other things.
This is something I’ve done hundreds of times before.
I operate to a checklist which I’ve curated over the years and it’s not failed me once.
I always launch late on a Friday night to give us the best chance of getting any issues ironed out.
You can sleep easy knowing I’ll be on-call over your launch weekend to ensure everything goes according to plan.
Web Design Sunshine Coast Process Stages
Although there are a lot of web design companies, highly experienced ones follow the same basic steps.
If you are planning to order a website, here are the basic steps for the design and hosting of your website.
There are several steps involved in creating a website.
There are several steps involved in creating a website. I probably cannot emphasis a customers involvement enough. Not only that your website should be aesthetically pleasing, functional and professional but you should love your website. Too much? I guess maybe a little. I say this because if you are in love with your website you will want to create articles, insert images as well as produce and then showcase your videos. Website should be treated as a central online platform.
Remember, you are in total control of your website, as you collect a following you will have full access to email addresses and contact details you gather. It’s you who is in charge of your contacts not Facebook or other platforms.
This is very important to remember, if you build a following on Facebook for example and Facebook changes one of their algorithms in the future you will lose some of that following there is nothing you will be able to do about it. If you have a website you can collect your own following by asking people to subscribe.
Web Design Sunshine Coast
The website design process begins with a good domain name. There are several factors involved. Choose something catchy & easy to remember.
Sometimes it is beneficial to add your location. You may provide your domain name or brainstorm with your website designer to create one. It is better to use a domain name that explains the purpose of the website.
Give a brief on the purpose of your website and how you want it to work. Think about what kind of services would you like to include in your website design. Is it going to be a one-page website or a small website? The purpose of the site will also determine its design, what plugins would be used to showcase your organisation, and individual features. In other words, the brief should be a clear description of the purpose of the website and how it will work. I also recommend to search the net for things you like in the website and things you dislike.
Based on the specific website brief, a completed design is presented to clients online. What follows is often the longest part of the process as it may require substantial back and forth between designer and client. The aim being to ensure customer satisfaction, but don’t worry I’ll walk you through this process.
The structure of any website is of considerable importance as the easier it is for Google bots to crawl through the higher the site will rank.
After the design process, content is inserted to all appropriate pages of the website. Typically I’ll ask you to prepare content for your website, as generally The best person to write about your business is you. This is a vital part of the website.
Remember, all marketing and SEO techniques can only bring visitors to your website when you have quality content.
These days, developing and hosting your website is only half the job. It simply must be optimised for search engines as there are thousands of websites competing in every niche. Ideally you need to begin to optimise your website even before you launch it. That is why initial Search Engine Optimisation is included with each of my web packages.
This is the final stage. When the initial SEO activities are completed, you can now have your website hosted by a reputable web host with high redundancy. This means that your web host should have multiple backup servers to retrieve your data quickly in case is of any loss.
Content for the website
SunCoast Media will lay the content provided and images as well as create every page that is required and agreed upon.
*Please note that content is to be provided by the client. I understand that this might not be your cup of tea. That is why I also provide copy writing services by engaging professional copy writers. The additional cost per page is $55 (brief is incuded).
Solid call to action attracting email subscribers from which a slow burn relationship will be formed.
I suggest new team photos and action shots of people working.
These are great and far better than stock photos.
Listing clients are great, testimonials are better but giving it some context in a case study is considerably better.
A range of case studies will serve you for years to come.
This should be split up into the primary reasons people buy your services, with labeled headers to match.
For example ‘Bookkeeping’, ‘Saving Tax’ and ‘Audits’. Doing this means people can relate your headers to solutions to their problems in a fast and effective manner.
Call to Action
We’ll strategically place a contact form at the bottom of each page that makes sense.
How do you work? What’s required of your clients? It’s worth detailing your process in advance
It’s worth giving an indication of your pricing. This will typically reduce the number of enquiries but increase the quality a huge amount.
In this day and age, it’s vital to give away content and advice in advance in order to “win people over” that you’re the right company for the job. Frequently asked questions from the kinds of clients you want more of is a great place to start when thinking about what content to produce.
Choosing affordable website
Do you need to compromise on quality if choosing affordable website design and what to look for?
Affordable Web Design has often gotten a bad reputation. Sadly sometimes deserved. I think the reason is that people don’t differentiate between the positive and negative connotations in how the phrase “Cheap Websites Sunshine Coast” can be interpreted.
Cheap is a loaded word. Or maybe it is that sometimes the outcome doesn’t contain the full load expected. “What did they shave off?” is what one should ask on a cheaper product (or service).
Why should you choose affordable website
One major reason that websites were costly in the early days was that there was a lot to do. Even an agency offering cheap websites needed to have a lot of staff to build everything from scratch. Specialists in each arena, filling chairs, adding to the bill no matter the workload. Things got shaved off to offer cheap web design.
Many agencies still charge this way even though they use the same infrastructure that is available to all on the open market (WordPress, Servers etc.). Whilst there is still a very valid reason for agencies, when the business needs a lot of custom work in several disciplines and wants someone else to stage manage it all, the reality is that most businesses can benefit far more from hiring smaller.
2. Speciality – passion, the personal touch.
Local Freelancers a growing industry
Enter the Freelancer
Local* Freelancers have become a growing industry in the last 10 years as businesses realise they can invest in specialist skills without significantly increasing their overheads.
Freelancers are a varied bunch for sure but the good ones have normally started out in the traditional channels, and then gone solo for one of a few reasons – commonly “lifestyle” or “passion for their craft” that regular agencies don’t often support. All wins for the client as they get agency quality staff with far lower overheads. The Freelancer knows how to be a good employee as well as an entrepreneur.
The Freelancer isn’t paying for buildings or staff. A laptop and an internet connection is about all they need. Freelancers are about hiring the right brain for the job – and only when you need the.
Some people worry that using a Freelancer and a system like WordPress to build an affordable website is that they have no flexibility. In reality, in most cases that sort of flexibility just isn’t required.
And if it really is, someone has probably already made a widget that does that thing – and it has been tested in the real world by thousands of users. Freelancers tend to know their workspaces really well and have developed the ability to be creative with the limits.
This allows genuinely affordable websites to be built. The Freelancer focuses on their speciality which is arranging sales content so it does the job it is supposed to.
Single, defined person to build your website
Instead of having an IT Department of faceless people build your website, you get to have a single, defined person who loves what they do build your website – as and when they work best.
The person building your website, your sales platform, is the person you are talking to, not some person just out of college jammed in a cubicle rushing to hit volume KPIs – I know, I have been there.
Freelancers are purely outcome focused and client focused in ways the corporate employee rarely is. Freelancers are more affordable for you; getting the results both you and they want personally. Wins for all.
*I said “local” before. Local for me is right here on the Sunshine Coast. Local is better because Sunshine Coast Website Designers understand the world you live and work in. They know they might run into you at the local shops. Time zones match. Languages match. You can meet face to face. Personal attachment and responsibility is high. This is why I offer the most affordable websites on the Sunshine Coast. This is the community I love and raise my children. Find out more about my website design packages & contact me today.
